Lots of good stuff happening.

Blake Kimzey, founder of Writing Workshop, the amazing group I was part of this past June in Iceland, just published an amazing Q & A with me about my forthcoming book on Zora Neale Hurston’s time in Honduras.

Read more here. Very generous fellow writer. Thanks, Blake. Still thinking about the fun there. Isaac Fitzgerald was the amazing leader of the nonfiction group. Below is a photo of me in Iceland last June. I think Blake or Mike Franz, another great soul running Writing Workshops, took it. I was tired, but feel as free as Zora has often felt.

Also, Texas A & M University’s Press’s upcoming poetry anthology focuses on Alabama and yup, three of my poems with ties to Hurston are in it. Feel free to pre-order at this link https://www.tamupress.com/book/9781680033267/the-southern-poetry-anthology-volume-x-alabama/.

Finally, I am plugging away on the public history in Alabama book for Routledge. Editing like crazy. Eyes tired. There’s more. “Kalimbird,” a soundscape I made last winter of the cicadas and what-not I heard late one night, will be part of the next Radiophrenia show. This Glascow-based temporary art radio station presents radio as an art form. By the third week of August, hear “Kalimbird” here.
